How to Write A Blog for Your Market
Step 1: Brainstorm Time!
Start thinking of different ideas that you believe would be beneficial to your market. Think about who your customers are, and what they are interested in. Think about what they would find value in if they read this blog on your website. Now take 10 minutes to write down any and all ideas.
Step 2: Hook your Reader
Remember a time when you read the title of a story, and thought to yourself, “Wow, I really want to read this article!” Well, now it’s time to think of one for your blog! The title is extremely important to hook your reader into why reading your blog will add value to their day.
Pro Tip: Try to think of a keyword that you can focus on throughout the entire blog and place it in the title as well. Keywords help tell search engines what your blog is about and an important step when writing a blog for your market.
Example Blog Title: 5 Home Repairs that Sell a House. The keyword focus was Sell a House and this titled allowed Century 21 Northwest Realty to give their reader a tangible and digestible list.
Step 3: The Meat & Potatoes
Now it’s time to walk the reader through your blog in an easy and approachable way with the content you write. For best practices, you should have at least 3-5 different points to walk the reader through. Please remember that you don’t need to tell them everything about the topic in order to write a blog for your market, but you want to leave a little mystery as to why they should call you for your expertise.
Pro Tip: Try to include the same keyword you picked in your title to be included in 3 out of the 5 points in your blog.

Conclusion: Close and Convert
You are blogging to help educate and convert new business opportunities. Therefore, the end of your blog should wrap up your topic quickly, and give a call to action for the reader to contact you.
